KOLKATA TO ADDRESS BIG BASH OF LEGENDS
KOLKATA-The soccer mad city of Cricket crazy INDIA is set to hold another big event like last year, when some great footballers will clash here in the Salt Lake Stadium ,the organisers announced on Monday.
The match involving Brazilian Legends and Sports Ministers Legends would see in action soccer celebrities from the Latin American nation like Cafu, Juninho Paulista, Mario Silva, Zetti, Carlos Dunga, Robeto Carlos and Bebeto.
Among those who validated their participation for the Sports Ministers Legends are the Colbian duo of goalkeeper Rene Higuieta and Carlos Valderamma, the promoters Omnibus – an event management and management consultancy organisation – said.
Among the players who are tapped for sports ministers legends are some of the masters of the game like David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo ,though none of them have confirmed till now.
We'll announce the name of the players in the coming days as per the availabilty -Jimmy Olsson of Omnibus told mediapersons.
To ensure exposure to young talents both teams will have some under 19 players from all accross the country.“The Sports Ministers Legends may also have some players from Bengal,” the organisers said.
As per the schedule drawn up, the two sides will hold open practice sessions Dec 7, besides taking part in a charity dinner, and visiting schools and organisations like the Missionaries of Charity.
The West Bengal chief minister said the financial support will be provided by the government.
The tickets will be charged from Rs300 to Rs1500.
The city has witnessed last year's september the great FIFA friendly match between sensational Lionel Messi lead Argentina and Venezuela which resulted into Argentina's victory by the second half header by Nicolas Otamendi.
